Earlier this week I was on a plane (just for a change!), standing at my seat, waiting for the Qantas crew to help stow my cabin bag in the overfilled luggage compartment above.
As I waited patiently, the entire plane boarded, many looking at me strangely, as I stood awkwardly, bag on seat, watching them pass me by. It didn’t help that the plane was full of the Australian National Rugby League Team, The Kangaroos (not that I even realised this at the time, much to the disgust of my league-adoring daughter, Mack).
AS MANY OF YOU KNOW, I RECENTLY HAD THE ABSOLUTE HONOUR OF ATTENDING THE ABOUT MY BRAIN INSTITUTE, I4 LIVE RETREAT TO CAMBODIA.
Where we partnered with the NFP RAWImpactOrg to collaborate, give back & build a bamboo house for a Cambodian family in need. The experience is one I will never forget and it exceeded all my expectations.
Introducing John, a Senior Finance Manager of a Local Government Council (& a former coaching client of mine).
John was brilliant technically at his job, but his team hated him (slight issue). There was no trust, no relationship & consequently, the team’s results were on the decline & FAST!
Dean Burnett, that’s who.
Well our brain is a control freak, according to neuroscientist & author of the book 'Idiot Brain', Dean Burnett. In an evolutionary sense, the brain does not like uncertainty. Why? because anything uncertain is a potential threat.
We make lots of choices in life, don't we.
The most common question I get asked when I am away (from women & men) is: “So who looks after the kids when you are away?”
